Dropping Runescape

After a lot of conversation and efforts to keep it alive, we finally decided to drop the RS division.
The able leaders Gogeta and Vegito quit leading it and we weren't able to find an able replacement.
And as past experiences have taught us, any division without a good leadership is bound to fail.
On a sidenote, Jaffa has replaced Snooze as MS GameLeader, Falconator has become Civ4 GameLeader and Posaqua has become AoE3 GameLeader, replacing Sanderstijl who became AoE2 GameLeader again.
Reorganisation

We (the ECC'ers and I) have decided to reorganise the games in four new divisions. I mean, having an "AoE" division with Civilization 4 as one of it's games is kinda stupid, isn't it?
Each division will be lead by a "Division Leader". Some (important) games will still have an additional Game Leader (Quickz for JJ2, Sanderstijl for AoE3, Yasco for RS and Snooze for MS).
All "Vice" ranks will be removed. This means that Vice-CoLeader Vegito will simply get the rank of (2nd) CoLeader. Anakin remains the 1st CoLeader, of course.
The new divisions are:
1. Platform (lead by Grytolle, consisting of Jazz Jackrabbit 2)
2. Strategy (lead by Rocko), consisting of Age of Empires 2, Age of Empires 3 and Civilization 4)
3. Roleplaying (lead by Kyura, consisting of Runescape, Maple Story and World of Warcraft private server)
4. Console (lead by Dx until the release of the Wii, consisting of Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 1, Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 3)

There's plenty of CC stuff, fun stuff and also some 'intellectual' stuff. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Chatbox, Newsletter and ECC

Thanks to Neo, the "Chatbox" at the CC site works again. The chatbox is a Javascript that will redirect you to CC's IRC channel (see the previous news post). The chatbox is useful for people who don't want to install mIRC or for when you are at school or something.
Also I'd like to announce that the CC Newsletter is going to be revived once again (but this time for every three months). The newsletters will contain much more useful information from now on, including a small article from each GameLeader on about his/her division and game(s) were doing in the past months. Naturally, the major old elements like the game review, movie review and interview will stay.
Some changes in ECC. Yasco replaced Gogeta as RS GameLeader, Gogeta replaced Vegito as RS Vice-GameLeader and Vegito on his turn became the Vice-CoLeader of CC. I wrote a lengthy guide for all ECCs on the forum (although unavailable for non-ECC at the moment) so each one of them knows what his/her responsibilities are.

There has been a new beginning for our IRC-channel, #craccoclan. For a long time it was pretty much dead, but the crew reawoke it! Join in the fun! Join #craccoclan@QuakeNet! The best way to join the channel is via the program mIRC, which can be found at mIRC.com. Once you have installed the program, click away the trial-box and go Tools -> Options... then Connect -> Servers, where you select QuakeNet, then Connect -> Options, and press the button saying "Perform...". Check the box "Enable perform on connect", and select QuakeNet in the network-list. Then add the line /join #craccoclan to the big field "Perform commands:". Press Ok, press OK. Then go File -> Connect, and you should be in the channel :D.
When you're in the channel you're recommended to sign up for a so-called Q-account, which you do by saying /msg Q Hello, and then following the instructions. Once you are signed up you can add another line to your performlist (preferably at the top of it), saying somethign like /msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH Grytolle 123456abc (you get the correct details in an e-mail upon signing up.
If you don't know what IRC is, here is a link for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat. In short it's a chatting program that doesn't lag your computer and is prefect for clan conversations.
Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me or Vegito.
Hope to see you all there!

A lot of the members from our clan have asked or suggested a MS division. There seem to be a lot of people both in or outside CC who are interested inan CC MS division.
Whenever you're interrested as well, please reply here. (requires a forum account).
When enough people are interested to join we'll add a MS division to our clan!

Rocko is inviting everyone to a CC-Weekend in Bad Bentheim (German border-town)
This meeting will be on the 19th and 20th of August
There'll be BBQ, Movies, Games, Swimming in a mineral-pool and plenty of other things to do amongst clanmates!
Besides a mineral pool, Bad Bentheim also has an impressive Castle with a small Midgetgolf parcours and a lawn where you can play soccer and such
All of this will be held at Rocko's place, and because it's a bed and breakfast/music theatre (for more info see http://www.hennekenshof.de), there'll be (free) sleeping accommodations for everyone!
Note: There's a direct train connection between Amsterdam-Amersfoort-Deventer-Hengelo-Bad Bentheim-Rheine-Osnabrück-Minden-Hannover-Wolfsburg-Stendal-Berlin-Szczecin Glowny
Anyone that would like to come should contact Rocko or Chiyu for more information and so we know what we're up against.

After a few months (yes, months) of testing and training together with The Dutch Army and Rocko, we have finally added the game to our list. Raadspensionaris and n00b have already been recruited. Civ4 is currently listed as a sub-division under the AoE Division, until it is big/succesful enough to become a new/independent division. The game itself is a turn based strategy game, more info about it will follow shortly.
By the way, thanks to a small wave of new members; namely Timsterr, Ryu and Sipio, the SSB division has become more active. Yay!
A change in the system
posted on 8 June 2006
by Chiyu
There are divisions (AoE, but soon RO and SSB as well) with more than one game in then. Normally, every single game in the division would have the same GameLeader and Vice-GameLeader. But I figured it would be better if each game in a division would have at least it's own Vice-GameLeader.
Let's look at the change it will bring about: right now Rocko is the GameLeader of the AoE division, thus of both AoE2 and AoE3, while Sanderstijl is the Vice-GameLeader. In the future, this will mean that Sanderstijl will be Vice-GameLeader for AoE3, but there will be another one for AoE2 (and another one for any upcoming games *hint*).
PS: This also means that new games will no longer need a completely new division,
as long as the leading staff and the initial members are somewhat the same as in a current division.

There will be yet another CC meeting on the 4th of may, in Walibi World. Every member will be welcome, no exceptions whatsoever. We will gather at +- 9:50 AM at Harderwijk, and there we will take the bus together to the amusement park.

(logo by Spybunny)
Also, I'd like to add that the CC-AOE3-1 channel at hamachi is no longer used. We will use CC-SHARE-1 for everything now; from file-sharing, to JJ2 and AoE3. The password isn't very hard to guess, it's the same password the CC servers at Jazz2 have (no; not Shaney or CCrules, the other one :P). If you still don't know what it is, ask me.
SwD -> ORF
posted on 2 April 2006
by Chiyu
[SwD] has been growing too fast the past months. This has resulted in an unstable clan with people coming and going all the time. Especially the last couple of weeks we lost a lot of important members (another clan called RdEye was out to "steal our members" and "destroy SwD", as they put it at their message board). So a select few of us have banded together and formed a new clan, the Order of the Rising Flame. Although the messy SwD clan still exists, ORF shall replace it as the official CC AoE3 division. We're not stricter in letting new members in; we only want loyal members. Therefore, you need to be a good friend of one of the current members (or a member of another CC division) and need approval of the other members if you want to join. We're more of a democratic team now, since all members know eachother, we're all officers and have another leader every week :).
Age of Empires III doing well
posted on 7 February 2006

The Age of Empires III division has been growing very fast lately (46 members as I'm writing this). I had to initiate a temporary break from recruiting since if we get too many members in a very short time interval, chances are that our members won't even know eachother. I'd like to thank Rocko (Daan) The Dutch Army (Marco) and EXTREEM (Patrick) in particular for their participation in the recruiting process, but a lot of other members took part in this as well, so thanks everyone!
[SwD] (as our AoE3 division is called) is not only expanding in numbers, but is also improving in quality. Just about a week ago, G Joker and me played a friendly clanwar against [NFF] (Netherlands Fighting Force). We managed to win our first clanwar on AoE3! Download the replay video here. Put it in your "Savegame" folder (should be located in \My Games\Age of Empires 3\) if you want to view it in AoE3 itself.
Removing obsolete divisions

The so-called "IRL division" was a collection of games played in tournaments at CC IRL meetings.
However, these tournaments are merely for fun and it wouldn't be right to call those games a seperate CC division since we don't do anything as a clan together on them (they're not even for PC!): we just play them at someone's house.
However, the N64's classic Super Smash Brothers is an exception to this. It CAN be played online! Here's how:
1. Unzip the N64 emulator Project64k. Get it here.
2. Get the Super Smash Brothers ROM (or any other N64 game for that matter) here. Unzip it first! I suggest you unzip it in the same directory Project64k is installed in.
3. Run Project64k.exe (NOT Project64.exe!). Before you can play, click on "File" and then "Choose Rom Directory". Choose the directory in which your ROMs are located.
4. From now on, you can play online over the kaillera serverlists by clicking on "File" and then "Start NetPlay...". Pick an username, pick a server (look for one with a low ping), host or join a game and start playing!
NOTE: When you play Super Smash Bros online, be sure to enable the two cheats (under "Options", then "Gameshark codes") "Have all characters" and "Have Mushroom Kingdom" (under VS. Mode). This is to ensure that everyone will be able to use all characters and all levels when playing online!
This means that, like in the old times, SSB is an official division once again. If enough people want to play it online, I will organise little duel cups on kaillera (equivalent of the tournaments on IRL meetings, which sadly not everyone can participate in).
Since SSB (and it's sequal SSBM for the GameCube) is the main game during IRL tournaments, these tournament results will also be viewable on the site. I will also make a new seperate section for "meetings" with photos, movies and info, since the meetings were fundamental for the former IRL division.
The so-called "Other division" has also been removed. It was really no longer neccesary, especially because Foo and Mjam (the members of the former Other division) play SSB online anyway.
Clanwars against insane Terminators

On the 10th and 12th of January our immensly successful JJ2-division played our first two clanwars of this year.
The first of those was teambattle, wherein we played both rounds on Blur's Battle Game XC.
As can be seen in the Gallery for this clanwar we won with a total of 50 to 14 (25-6, 25-8).
The second clanwar was played on Happy Semiconductor CTF, Jungle's Edge and Semiconductor again (5-0, 5-0, 5-0).
Thanks goes to Yasco for hosting two rounds. Gallery-page for that clanwar can be found here.
Apprently Chiyu recorded some clips from the clanwars.
There are five of them - four from clanwar one and one from clanwar two.
I would like to recommend you to watch the 5th one especially, since it features
an entire round where me and Snooze win with 5-0 in like two minutes.
Clip 1 from clanwar one, second round
Clip 2 from clanwar one, second round
Clip 3 from clanwar one, second round
Clip 4 from clanwar one, second round
Clip from clanwar two, second round
Also, we have sort of got an upcoming clanwar against 8D, levels undecided - let's hope it does happen. And lastly don't forget to sign up for the teambased (no, not clanbased anymore) Jazz Jackrabbit World Championchips (lol pun). All the info you need can be found on the site for jj2wc or on in this JCF thread.
You might also like to take a look at the unofficial 1.25 patch (currently version 1.25i). Best of luck to you all!
AoE3 Multiplayer Without ESO (LAN play)
posted on 12 January 2006
by Rocko
After having done some research, I found a way for us CC-ers to play Age Of Empires 3 over a simulated LAN.
This means that people that, untill now, weren't able to play online because they didn't have a Legal copy of the game, are now able to play with eachother and become true AOE3 veterans!
There are some things that need to be taken care off first in order to play online like that:
First of all, you'll need a clean instalation of AOE3. Don't use any cracks, and update your version in the help and tools section of the game-menu (you may need a serial to update the game; we haven't tested that yet - if you can't update it, you can always play it with others who didn't update the game).
Now you need to do as following:
1. You will need to download and install 'Hamachi'. This programm will enable your computer to Join our Age of Empires 3 'virtual' LAN. You can download Hamachi here.
2. There's an error inside AOE3 that prevents it from using the correct ip for LAN games. In order to correct this flaw, you'll need age3vpn and extract it's files into your AOE3 directory. You can get it from our server here.
I recommend making a shortcut to "AGE3VPN.EXE" that will now be located inside your AOE3 directory since for LAN play, you will need to start the game with this utillity.

I have two promotions to announce. First of all, Gogeta has picked Jon to be Vice-GameLeader of the Runescape division.
Secondly, Jedi (also known as Joey or Furio) has gotten us an "emperium" at Ragnarok Online. With the emperium, we were able to recreate the Silver Dragon Guild (so CC'ers; contact "Chiyu" in cRO to get invited to the guild!). As promised, the reward for this noble action is Vice-GameLeadership. It's still uncertain who the GameLeader will be, I'll decide that soon :).
RAGNAROK ONLINE!!!

Happy new year all!
CoLeader Neo had great plans for 2006; he wished to bring back CC's second most succesful division ever; Ragnarok Online. After a brief discussion on MSN, I agreed on Neo's choice for server.
The server is CelesRO (cRO), and yes, we'll stay on it. I guarantee that we won't change servers anymore. If you join now, all your training and item hunting won't be in vain :P.
Neo has made a post about this on the Cracco Clan Forums, I'll quote the two most important parts:
"Now for the game installation:
1. go to http://celes.kicks-ass.org/ and register for an account.
2. Download the kRO and SAKRAY client
kRO client : http://211.39.133.47/ragnaweb/RAG_SETUP1025.exe
SAKRAY client : http://211.39.133.47/ragnaweb/SAK_SETUP1025.exe
3. Install the 2 files : now the installations will be in unreadable characters just use common sense and you will be fine.
4. After the installation click on the Ragnarok Online.exe and patch the game , afther that do the same for the SAKRAY client.
5. After you installed the game : install this file
http://celes.kicks-ass.org/celesroinstaller.exe this is the celes patch, which allows you to play the game on a how should I say this ... erm not so legal PRIVATE server ? ^^
6. Starts the CelesRO.exe login* and play!!!"
Why Celes RO?
The server has a smaller amount of people who are online at the same time, so it makes it totally unlaggy (although the server can handle a lot).
It has thing most servers dont even know about, or dont fully function yet like the reborn jobs, adoption system, TK job, weapons, npc's.
The community is nice.
Organised Events like WoE.
Note that CC hasn't got an official guild yet (we'll create it one of these days), at the moment we are just training. The team is still small; Neo, Jackass, Rockie, Link and myself, but I hope that this reborn division will grow just as fast as AoE3 did!
PS: Once again CC is open for new divisions (we need some more divisions to fall back on since the JJ2 division is sort of dying)!
