- About Mario Kart Wii

Fire your engines… and… go! Mario and his friends are back for another kart game filled with exciting new levels and content. This time they will race each other not only on karts, but on bikes as well. So get ready for a complete new racing experience with Mario Kart Wii !

The game can be played in multiple ways. Not only can you play with the GameCube Controller, but also with the Wii Classic Controller and the Wii Wheel (the Wii-Mote). After you have discovered which controllers suits you best, the game can start for real. There are 32 tracks in the game. 16 are complete new ones designed specifically for the Wii, and 16 older ones from the SNES, N64, GBA, DS and NGC. Even some of the battle levels have returned to the Wii version.

After finishing some of the cups (as usual, you have the 50CC, 100CC and the 150CC difficulty) you can unlock extra characters and other cups. Further on you can play Time Trials against Nintendo Ghosts (played by the staff of Nintendo) or even online! The entire Mario gang is back, including Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario, Dry Bones, Toadette, Daisy, Baby Mario and many more.

New weapons have been added! An orange mushroom that makes you bigger, faster and most importantly invincible! This is comparable to the function of the Star, although that one has a better effect. The POW Block. When you use this weapon, all of the opponents in front of you will be attacked by a POW quake. Making them incapable to race for a few seconds. And last but not least, the thunder cloud. When you get this item, pass it along to someone else as quickly as you can. After a while the cloud will attack the carrier, making him small and slower for a while. Of course the other items like the shells, banana’s and such have returned.

Characters: Mario, Samus, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Solid Snake, Meta Knight, Kirby, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, Link, Zelda, Pit and Wario, to name just a few I would say all of them but i don't want to give you Spoilers! though if you want spoilers you can go to www.gamespot.com

Another function added to the game, is a special jump. Every time you launch yourself across an edge, or get bumped into the air by an obstacle. You can perform a stunt jump. You’re selected character will make a stunt in mid-air and the moment that he/she touches down; you will get a speed boost. Extremely handy to outrun the people behind you, or to catch up with the person in lead.

Of course, Mario Kart Wii has an internet mode! No need to invite all of your friends over to play, or to get slapped in your face when you fire a blue shell at the first place. If your Wii has an internet connection you can play with all of your friends online. Simply add their friend code and you can both start a private game. Or, when you see them playing in a worldwide VS server, join them!
